The Look For Less - Kim Kardashian's Givenchy Shark Lock Knee Boots and Sheer Shirt Dress

I know, I know...this look is going way back, however whether you like it or not, it would seem that Shark Lock knee boots are here to stay in Givenchy's collections.  When I first saw these boots I yelled at the top of my lungs "U-G-L-Y, you 'aint got no alibi, you ugly!" and then rolled around the floor in a fit of laughter at the enjoyment that someone would have a good enough sense of humour to spend over $2000 for a pair.  Then, when I collected my self together and wiped the tears of laughter away, I took another look for good measure....and then, something peculiar happened; I thought to myself...

"I ACTUALLY QUITE LIKE THEM!"

and of course, the ludicrous price tag made the urge to own a pair even greater. Back to reality and on the hunt for a similar pair I came across an almost identical pair from Persun at a cool $1800 less than the Givenchy boots! Tote-ally lust worthy, right? The Burberry Autumn / Winter 2012 collection is fashion patriotism at it's finest.  Quintessentially chic and sophisticated Burberry with a quirky nod towards street style.  Featuring cropped bomber jackets, bow-tie belts cinching in peplum-cut waists with a range of accessories including gloves and umbrellas fully loaded with studs, doctor bags with animal head door-knockers and herringbone flat caps all displaying elements characteristic of the city.

Ever wondered why girls have an unhealthy obsession with the colour pink?  

Well... scientific studies have shown that generally people prefer the colour blue, although it is has been found that females tend to pick out the redder shades of blue.  Women's ability to better discriminate red from green could have evolved due to sex-specific divisions of labour: while men hunted, women gathered, and they had to be able to spot the ripe berries and fruits .....

So, bearing this in mind whilst I was doing the weekly grocery shop(!) I thought it completely fair and justifiable that when I got home that day I would make the following purchases, all of which were inevitably pink.  So next time you're uhm-ing and ah-ing over that pink must-have item; go ahead guilt-free and without hesitation.  After all, it's in our genes ;)
